An introduction to the craft of book binding
Make your own unique contemporary soft cover notebook using Khadi Indian handmade paper and decorative ribbons to secure. Handmade and hand-stitched, learn traditional book binding skills and leave with a finished item. This taster session provides a perfect opportunity to learn the principals behind the craft and gain the knowledge to experiment with book binding at home.
All materials are included. No previous experience necessary.
Angela Thames graduated from UCA Farnham in 2006 with a degree in Fine Art. Her current practise is as a printmaker and maker of artists books, which she prints and hand binds, using traditional or digital printing methods adding her own or appropriated text from poems, books or articles.
Angela’s artists’ books are held in private and public collections including Tate Britain, Oxford Brookes University and Bath Spa University and in Italy and North America.
