Sarah Broadhead

Sarah Broadhead

Sarah was born in Dublin. She trained at West Surrey College of Art and Design in Farnham (now UCA), where she gained a BA in Textiles followed by a Post Graduate Diploma in Glass.  In 1986 she set up her glass studio in Hampshire and has been working there ever since.

Sarah has exhibited her work in galleries both nationally and internationally, including shows in Switzerland, Germany, Dublin, and Dubai.

Sarah’s work displays her skill in the art of glass enamel, which she uses in a painterly fashion to colour clear glass.  Each piece is a work of art, expressing her interests in water, light, fish, natural forms and patterns.  The sea blues, viridians and delicate turquoises of her work are a joy in any setting.

Sarah’s jewellery often combines her skills in glass and textiles using woven threads of silver and  various wires. She delights in the reflections of the coloured glass and semi – precious beads when placed near or over the surface of silver which magnifies and heightens the impact of the colours.
