Tutor: Alison has run a small business designing and making hand knits for 35 years, dyeing her own yarns. She teaches short courses, and has published 4 books on designing in knitting.
Her interest in both designing and teaching is to explore how the stitches work, and how different stitches can shape fabric and create garments knitted without seams, to suit different people and to be a pleasure to wear. She encourages students to have confidence to make their own designs.
She runs courses for West Dean College (Chichester), Societies of Weavers, Spinners and Dyers, and other textile groups in the UK, Canada and Sweden
