Choose your own Sockventure! with Rachel Coopey
Sunday 24 February. 10am – 1pm
In this workshop we will start to knit a sock using all those scraps and leftovers sock knitters accumulate. Different stitch patterns, stripes and techniques will be used to make unique socks. We will discuss and decide on different heel and cuff options. Bring small amounts of different sock yarns and your preferred sock needles.
Skill level: To complete this workshop you must be able to knit confidently in the round and will have knitted a basic sock before.
What participants need to bring: Bring small amounts of different sock yarns and your preferred sock needles.
About Rachel: Rachel was taught to knit by her grandmother and mother when she was little and she’s still got the extremely long garter stitch stitch scarf to prove it! She was drawn to sock knitting when she bought 3 skeins of hand-dyed sock yarn because they were so beautiful and thought I’d give knitting a pair of socks a try, she has had a pair of socks on the needles ever since!
She has published two books of sock designs and worked with Knitty.com, Interweave and Twist Collective.
You can keep up with her new designs and knit-a-longs at coopknits.co.uk and in her group on Ravelry.
