We have been lucky enough to work with artist Emma Block on a beautiful illustration for thread. Emma is an illustrator who graduated with First Class Honours in B.A. Illustration from Middlesex University. She published her first book in 2011, titled ‘Tea and Cake’ and she has just started working on her third children’s book. Her work is inspired by the people she meets, old photos, vintage clothes, travel, 1950s illustration and 1930s jazz. Emma’s client list includes the likes of Mollie Makes, Harper Collins, Time Out and Madison Park Greetings. You can see more of Emma’s artwork on her website: www.emmablock.co.uk
Taking place on 26th and 27th September, thread will be a showcase for the many and varied textile notions. With expert talks, a range of workshops and demonstrations and a marketplace of artisan fabrics, dressmaking patterns and haberdashery, thread is an event not to be missed by sewing enthusiasts.
We will post more updates about the festival, including a list of workshops, in the coming months so keep an eye on our news page.
